Our guided trail marathon is a great way to complete this iconic distance. With the support of a qualified guide, a team atmosphere and a well stocked checkpoint a long the way you're in for a great day out on the trails. Give your motivation a boost and join us in April for a stunning guided trail run of around marathon distance (~26miles), through the challenging Chiltern Hills. The run starts out from the Home Office, Tring, just a 10 minute walk from Tring Station, and will incorporate parts of the Ridgeway, one of Britain's oldest routes, aswell as lesser known paths and trails.

Your local English Athletics qualified Run Leaders will offer tips on techniques, handle all aspects of navigation, as well as teach you about the local area. Hopefully we will see some of the wildlife the area is famous for. We combine both technical single track trails, along with popular local routes, taking in Nature Reserves, and passing through the infamous Wendover Woods. Along the way you will experience our famous hospitality and enjoy a well stocked refreshment point and be rewarded at the finish with a unique wooden Run the Wild finisher's medal!

The event starts from The Home Office, Tring is just 40 minutes North West of London with train links from Euston. Tring train station is just 10 minutes walk away and also has a taxi rank. There is an on-site free car park. Accommodation is available nearby, please get in touch if you would like any recommendations.

We will group participants by their ability but you need to be able to run a half marathon distance on the flat in under 2.5 hours. We walk anything too steep and it's a good opportunity to get some trail running tips from our leaders along the way as well as meet other trail runners. We recommend that you are able to run at least 15 miles continuously on trails. Due to the time of year we will be running, trail shoes are an absolute must!

Registration by 8.45am, at The Home Office, Tring. Toilets and free onsite parking are available as well as cafe facilities. The event will finish by around 3pm depending on your pace.

  • Refreshment point around halfway
  • Run Leader for the team, with you every step of the way
