BACKGROUND

Join us this spring time for a stunning trail run through the bluebell carpeted forest of Ashridge in the Chiltern Hills! It's a fun morning out on the trails, with trail running tips along the route by our expert local guides.

All abilities are catered for, so whether you want to push your speed or prefer a more relaxed morning out you will be well looked after. As with all Run the Wild events, it's a team event so you will be grouped with similar ability runners and each group led by one of our experienced Run Leaders who will route find and set the pace for you. We walk anything too steep and it's a good opportunity to get some trail running tips from our leaders along the way.

The distance will be around 13km. The run starts at the incredible location of Ashridge House, set in the heart of beautiful woodland. There is also a cafe at the end for hot refreshments and snacks.

The event is easily accessible, just 40 minutes North West of London by rail or road and there is free on-site parking for all runners.

We have safe COVID-19 working practices in place which ensure social distancing and maximum numbers are relevant to current government guidelines. Your safety and enjoyment are our priority.

ACCOMMODATION & TRANSPORT

Ashridge House is just 40 minutes North West of London with train links from Euston. The nearest train stations are Tring and Berkhamsted where there are taxi ranks available. There is an on-site free car park. Accommodation is available nearby, please get in touch if you would like any recommendations.

ABILITY

The event is inclusive to new trail runners and also those who are regularly out on the trails. We will group participants by their ability but you need to have run 5km non-stop in the past (doesn't need to have been a race time). We will cater for the following paces: 7-9km, 9-11km, 11km+ an hour on the flat or road. We stop a few times on the route to re-group and also to cover off knowledge tips. First time trail runners welcome!

"Completed our first run the wild event at Ashridge this morning and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Our leader Mark kept us entertained and informed throughout- even as we experienced a very unexpected chilly start. These events are for all levels and don’t be put off by distance the runs are interesting and sociable so you’re not focusing on how far you’re running. By far the most relaxing run I’ve ever done. Thank you Mark and the team" Fran, April 2021
