Adrian’s first regular runs were mainly because it’s so much better than cycling… but that commute to the station gradually became longer and more enjoyable versions of itself, with the tarmac gladly swapped out for the trails. Local running friends helped him explore more and more of the Chilterns’ varied network of paths. Sometimes even in daylight.
So began Adrian’s love for the joy to be found simply getting out and running through this fantastic countryside. Whether it’s the rain and the mud; the sun in the woodland; the snow and the wind; or the frost under starry skies… it’s all fabulous when you’re running.
He soon decided that a marathon really ought to be fitted in, and thoroughly enjoyed spending 4 hours (and a minute) running up and down the amazing trails and many chalky hills at Beachy Head. Some people who didn’t stop for a coffee got round a little quicker.
Adrian knows the rewards of getting out for a long run and is keen to help others make the most of them too. He’s never forgotten just how daunting it was to face the prospect of the “first 5k”, but that just makes him all the more glad he did.
