Bruno is an International Mountain Leader, trail running and hiking guide. He’s from the island of Jersey and developed a passion for the outdoors at a young age, enjoying the beautiful beaches, sea kayaking and exploring the coastal paths around the island. After moving to the Lake District and spending many years working as an outdoor instructor and guide in the UK, he now works primarily in the Alps. He lives in Annecy, France with his wife and two children.
Bruno has guided expeditions around the world, from Greenland to the Himalaya. However, he is now more at home on the alpine trails around Mont Blanc or The Matterhorn. “It’s hard to beat trail running in the Alps, with such a great variety of scenery, well maintained paths, challenging climbs and always a chalet around the corner serving fresh coffee and homemade tarts!”
Running has been a passion for Bruno since he was a teenager. Early years were mainly spent road running and a place in the 1996 London Marathon was the first big race which awakened an interest in distance events. With a love of the mountains and desire for new challenges, it was a natural progression to start trail running. The Mont Blanc Marathon, Annecy Maxi-race and the Santélyon are a few local events in which he’s competed. However, as Bruno puts it: “the real motivation for me is the personal challenge, and just being out in the awesome, inspiring, captivating, calming, mountain environment. Having the opportunity to share that experience with others is the icing on the cake!”
