Harriet owes her running journey to her lovely pooch Lola. After rehoming Lo back in 2016, they initially joined a local canicross club to help work at building a trusted bond.. and have never looked back since! They’ve run many trails together, from the bottom of Cornwall to the top of Scotland, but are still happiest when out running at home around the Chilterns together.
Over the years, as Harriets love for running grew, she began to get out more and participate without her little sidekick. Although she did manage to tick off one road marathon in Budapest, her biggest joy comes from embracing the wild, and she’s at her happiest spending all day out on the trails. In Harriet’s mind: the longer and muddier – the better! She’s completed multiple trail marathons and some multi-day challenges, included running 100km around Arran and 136km along the more local Ridgeway National Trail. Other single day achievements include running 43 miles along the Greensand Ridge self-supported with a group of friends, 47 miles around Windermere in the Lake District and completing a double marathon in a 12 hour timed event.
In her spare time, Harriet loves to get outside to explore, locally and across the UK – planning her own running or hiking adventures, where she can often be found camping, taking pictures of mushrooms or looking for wildlife. Aside from running, she loves to open water swim, stand up paddle board (which often results in some unexpected swimming too..) and very occasionally a longer bike ride, having cycled the RideLondon 100km in 2024.
Harriet joined the RTW team in 2022, and is passionate about guiding fellow runners through the gorgeous Chilterns, helping out as part of the logistics team or cheering from the sidelines at events.. there’s nothing she loves more than seeing others achieving their personal goals.
